About two weeks ago, Aly anounced on twitter that she had a new project. Today she tweeted: “Having a lil brunch in NYC with the director of my new film I’m shooting in 2 weeks:) very grateful and excited about this one x Aly.” Can’t wait to find out what the movie is! We will update as soon as there is an article or as soon as Aly spills the beans!
Good news! “Breaking In” is being released. Aly is in one of the episodes titled ‘Heathers’ that never aired. Can’t wait to see it!
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has scheduled November 6th for their MOD (manufacture on demand) DVD release of Breaking In – The Complete Series. The show had 20 episodes produced, although the final 8 have so far gone unaired in the United States. The title is expected to be available through various MOD programs, like the Warner Archive and Amazon’s CreateSpace. Pricing and package art for this title haven’t been finalized yet, but stay tuned.
EXCLUSIVE: Acting/singing duo Aly Michalka and AJ Michalka may star together in a comedy series next. The two sisters topline a half-hour project, which has sold to Fox. It hails from writers Matt Dearborn and Adam Goldberg, Happy Madison and Sony Pictures TV.
On the untitled single-camera comedy, which has received a script commitment, Aly and AJ Michalka will play versions of themselves. Finally out of the house and into their first apartment, Aly and AJ’s exciting new lives are interrupted when their mother unexpectedly moves in with them. Breaking In co-creator Goldberg and Zeke and Luther co-creator Dearborn will write the script and executive produce with Happy Madison’s Doug Robinson. Aly and AJ Michalka will serve as co-producers.
The two sisters first hit stardom as pop rock duo Aly & AJ (now 78violet). They made their acting debut as the stars of the Disney original movie Cow Belles, which was co-written by Dearborn. The two also co-starred together in MTV’s Super Sweet 16: The Movie. Additionally, AJ recurred on the CW drama Hellcats which starred Aly. The Fox comedy project extends Aly’s relationship with Happy Madison — she just wrapped the company’s Grown Ups movie sequel for Sony Pictures. AJ recently wrapped the indie feature Jesus In Cowboy Boots. Aly and AJ Michalka are repped by CAA and just signed with Principato-Young Entertainment.
The new project reunites WME-repped Goldberg with Fox where he and Seth Gordon created comedy series Breaking In, also produced by Sony TV and Happy Madison, on which Dearborn served as a consulting producer. The network also bought a period comedy pitch from Goldberg, Happy Madison and Sony TV last year.
Aly is going to be in a new movie, “Grown Ups 2”, which is the follow up to the 2010 movie “Grown Ups”! Aly just posted on twitter saying “First day filming Grown Ups 2 in Boston :] gonna be fun! x Aly”. IMDB.com lists her character name as Savannah.

I have some bad news guys. Aly was set to guest star on the 10th episode of this seasons “Breaking In”. Unfortunately, the show has been cancelled and pulled from the schedule. Hopefully Fox will air the episode this summer or release the remaining on DVD.
Breaking In‘s return proved short-lived. The network is pulling the sophomore comedy off the schedule for the remainder for the season. Following Raising Hope‘s season finale next Tuesday, Breaking In was slated to resume airing originals in the 9:30 PM slot after New Girl. Now the network will air New Girl repeats in the time period. It hasn’t been determined when Breaking In‘s unaired episodes will run, with summer considered a strong possibility. Breaking In‘s fate mirrors that of freshman Fox comedy I Hate My Teenage Daughter, which was also recently pulled off the schedule in favor of repeats. Breaking In, which got a second-season pickup after being cancelled last May and a revamp, has been underperforming, opening its sophomore season with a 1.7/4 in adults 18-49 last month and logging a 1.3/3 in its most recent airing, tying a season low. It looks like Fox is looking to bolster its already renewed New Girl by double-pumping the freshman comedy.
